Oxford Coffee Tour

Experience Design

Oxford, Ohio is a small college town full of unique small businesses that thrive off of the college students that support them. With a goal to support the local businesses of Oxford while spreading a love for coffee, the Oxford Coffee Tour was created. Through an engaging, and interactive tour of all coffee locations in Oxford, this experience provides coffee-lovers the chance to learn and try new drinks while providing support to Oxford businesses.

The Challenge

The biggest challenge while designing the Oxford Coffee Tour was coming up with an experience that could be completely self-guided that allowed participants to have all information and pieces of the tour in one easy to access place.

Design Choices

A bright, neutral color palette was chosen to speak to the calming atmosphere of coffee shops, while subtle textures were explored to add depth to the space and contrast the bold typography.

Tour Folder

With a completely self-guided tour, all directions and information need to be provided within a neatly organized location. The tour folder is designed at a practical size to conveniently carry around in your hand, purse, or pocket while completing the tour. The fourfold design makes it easy to fold out to assist you throughout the tour, and inside the folder is all of the direction and information you will need to complete the tour independently.

Location Cards

Each coffee stop has its own location card within the folder that can be pulled out at each stop. About information allows participants to learn more about each location. Featured drinks and recommendations were provided by each business to encourage participants to try new items! Additionally, each card has a promo or special offer that can be redeemed with the QR code on the folder.

A-Frame Signs

Outside of each location participants will find an Oxford Coffee Tour branded a-sign to indicate that this business is part of our tour.
